Founded by adoptee Pamela A. Karanova, Adoptee Remembrance Day recognizes adoptee suicide and suicidal ideation, mental health struggles, grief and loss, homelessness, addiction and substance use, incarceration, institutionalization, the Troubled Teen Industry, deportation, abuse and neglect in adoptive homes, missing adoptees, and adoptees whose lives have been lost to homicide.
